FACULTY OF PERFORMING ARTS

Department of Actor's Mastery

The history of the creation of the department owes its support to the rector of the KhSAC, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor V. M. Sheiko. It was on his initiative in 2000, when on the stage of the Kyiv National Ukrainian Drama Theater. Franko was shown a performance by students of the then director's department "Forest Song" based on the dramatic work of L. Ukrainka, which aroused interest among representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Education, and the first set of students specializing in "Actor of Drama Theater and Cinema" was opened in 2001.

Many different scientific and creative achievements have been made over the years.

Already in 2004-2005 academic year the first graduates of the specialization "Acting Art of Drama Theater and Cinema" became laureates of the theater festival "Sіchislavna-2005" in Dnepropetrovsk with a performance based on the work of A. P. Chekhov "The Seagull" and the performer of the role of Treplev Dmitry received the title of laureate of the festival for the best male role.

Student Anna Kobets performed with the actors of the 4th year the play "Obsessed" based on the work of L. Ukrainka and became the laureate of the All-Ukrainian festival of theater art "Ternopil theater evenings - 2005."

It was during this period that the EKMATEDOS scientific and educational laboratory, an experimental workshop of theatrical research, was created for the first time in Ukraine on the basis of the department of actor's mastery.

The purpose of the creative workshop-laboratory ECMATEDOS is to study new modern innovative methods of work of the actor of theater and cinema. Acting students at ECMATEDOS explore through new technologies the way of thinking, the logic of behavior and the nature of the feelings of a living person as part of the nature of flora and fauna.

During theoretical and practical training sessions, acting students enter the environment of the parallel world of the existence of the future performance with the purification of layers in the consciousness filled with real life. Catharsis is achieved by means of bodily and psychophysical training, the purpose of which is to prepare living flesh and human spirit for entering the environment of the parallel world of existence in the play and cinema - PASVIS.

This new method of the actor's work on the future stage and film image became possible thanks to the creative director of the experimental workshop of theatrical research, Dean of the Faculty of Theater Arts, director and teacher, Honored Artist of Ukraine Boris Igor Olexandrovich.

A huge layer of practical work of I. O. Borys - as the head of many theatrical groups of Ukraine, the implementation of television versions on television, in film production at the studio named after A. Dovzhenko and the scientific and chronicle studio of Kyiv, the author's writing of dramatic works, dramatizations, scripts of folk festivals and scientific articles, along with pedagogical work, made it possible to implement in reality a new method of work for theater and film actors.

Olesya that took part in the First International Festival of Theatrical Art of Student Theaters of the World "Inspiration - 2008" (Kyiv), where she received the honorary title "Laureate of the Festival". International theater criticism (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Yerevan, Krakow, Mexico City, Vilnius, Tel Aviv, etc.) during the discussion of the shown performance determined a fundamentally new search for the technique and technology of the actor's work on the stage and film image.
